I’ve seen the movie “The High School Musical 2” when I was a kid and what I remember the most was the gorgeous setting of the movie. Later on in life, I learned that some of the scenes from the movie were shot in St. George, Utah in United States of America.
St. George is a city in Utah and is located 300 miles south-southwest of its famous neighbor, Salt Lake City. The city is one of the top destinations in the US because of its significantly warmer on the average temperature as compared to other cities in the state. The climate is hot during summer and relatively mild cold in the winter which is almost the same to nearby Las Vegas which is 118 miles away from St. George City.
St. George is emerging to be one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States and there has been a boost in top commercial properties for sale in St George. This can be attributed to its year-round outdoor recreation activities and adventures in the nearby Snow Canyon State Park, Zion National Park, and The Grand Canyon. It is also the home of St. George Marathon and several golf courses.
In 2020, the city’s population was estimated at 95,342 and the local income mainly comes from tourism and manufacturing. The city has also been considered as one of the most secured places to live and in 2012, it ranked #63 in the “Best Place to Live in the United States” by CNN’s Money Magazine. Crime rate here is much lower than the national average and St George Commercial Real Estate Agents are promoting the city as a friendly community. The relatively low cost of living is also attracting people to stay and live here because it is also considered as one of the cheapest places to live in the United States.
Education is an important consideration in choosing a city to live in. There are plenty of choices in St George City when it comes to basic education as well as higher education. The art and music scene in the city is very vibrant. The city’s Downtown Arts District features “Art Around the Corner” wherein outdoor sculptures and statues resembling famous icons of the world are exhibited. St George is also the home of Southwest Symphony Orchestra as well as the Southern Utah Heritage Choir.
The city is also home to 20 city parks and urban trails that contributes to the green and open spaces that the residents and tourists both enjoy. There are also some skate parks, public recreation centers, aquatic centers, and sports complexes. There’s so much to do in St. George that there’s a perfect work-life balance for its people.
Food has always been one of the greatest considerations when it comes to deciding whether or not a certain place is worth the transfer. Foodies will really enjoy some of the great dining places in the city. Whether it’s a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, or hole-in-the-wall kind of eatery, there’s always something for everyone in St. George.
Must-try restaurants are Xetava Gardens Café, Red Fort Cuisine of India, Cliffside Restaurant, Cappeletti’s Restaurant, FeelLove Café, and Painted Pony Restaurant.
If you’re looking for a quaint neighborhood with a good mix of work, recreation, and leisure then St. George is definitely a good choice.
