Lavishness
needs company, extravagance that is. Our luxurious weekend staycation at Manila
Marriott Hotel included our glutton sessions at Marriott Café.
It
was a rainy Saturday afternoon. After we settled on our Executive Deluxe Room (check rates),
we headed to the Executive Lounge for some chill out sesh while enjoying the
Afternoon Tea. The group dispersed and prepped up for a theater play
performance that evening.
We
congregated at exactly six in the afternoon for dinner at Marriott Café, one of
the great dining options housed inside Manila Marriott Hotel. It serves daily buffet
for breakfast (6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.), lunch (12:00 nn. to 2:30 p.m.), and
dinner (6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.). They also have a special Sunday Brunch buffet
(11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and Weekend Seafood dinner buffet or Ocean’s Harvest (Fridays
and Saturdays | 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.). A
la carte menu is also available from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. With its two
hundred seating capacity, a simple romantic date or family gathering would
never be a problem.
We’re eleven in the group and were assigned on one of the three private rooms. It was as if we’re on a board meeting with long table filled with delectable dishes.
The
crustacean section was my favorite. I overindulged with freshly-cooked prawns
and lobsters with garlic butter sauce. The dessert section was also the
favorite among everyone.
A
dreary voice informed me that we only had thirty minutes before the breakfast
ends. I thought I was dreaming, until my buddy shook me awake, only then I
realized that we’re all in trouble (blame it on the booze).
I
phoned everyone and then the scramble went on as we dashed to Marriot Café where
the complimentary buffet breakfast is served. We were still scratching our eyes
as we said our morning greetings.
The buffet spread was an assortment of local and international breakfast fares. My plate overflowed with tacos (yes, they have tacos), beef tapa (which was soo good), and my happy bacons. We were accommodated again on the private room where the long table was filled with platefuls of pastries, salads, omelets, yoghurts, and more. It was the last call, that’s why.
We enjoyed till everyone was satisfied. And then endless chats went on until we realized that it was check out time.
The table was filled with delish food and fun memories |
