Lately,
I’ve been dreaming of a heavenly slumber with no alarm clock to bother me
(hello, old age). With plans of watching a musical play and a pumped up
staycation at Manila Marriott Hotel, my travel buddies and I invaded Pasay City
for a weekend of leisure, the titos and
titas of Manila way.
Manila
Marriott Hotel highlights luxury and comfort at their 342 well-appointed rooms
and suites. It offers great dining options (CRU Steakhouse, Marriott Café, Java
+ and Greatroom), luxurious in-house amenities (Quan Spa, Marriott Hotel Manila
Health Club, outdoor pool and whirlpool) and event spaces. Entertainment centers and casinos are also right at your doorstep,
nobody gets bored here. Located inside the Resorts World Complex, it’s just a few
cartwheels away from Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (free
airport shuttle is provided).
Coming
from the northern part of the metro, me and my buddy availed of the free
shuttle service from Resorts World Manila which was stationed at a popular
fastfood chain. The hassle-free van ride brought us to
Newport City in just one hour.
The
lazy drizzly weather was just too perfect for my planned all-day snuggle into
my luxurious bed at Manila Marriott Hotel, I couldn’t wait.
After
passing through the baggage inspection at the sentry, we entered the exquisitely-decorated
lobby where some of our friends were already waiting. The swanky light fixtures
illuminated the grand atrium while black and gold hues warmly welcomed
us as we reached the front desk; we were immediately assisted by the officer.

I
handed him my identification card and proceeded with the booking confirmation.
Checking in was a breeze and we were given out our keycards right away with a
brief rundown of our special privileges (we upgraded from Deluxe to Executive
Deluxe - check here for discounted room rates).
The
keycard-secured lift was also in tune with the overall theme of the hotel. We found
our room on the end of the elegant hallway.
Our
lovely space for the night was an Executive
Deluxe Room which features; a huge King-sized bed, in-room media and
entertainment (High-speed wireless internet, iPod dock, 40” LCD T.V. and more),
separate working desk with lamp, lounge chair with an ottoman, mini-bar, coffee
and tea-making facilities and a pumped up closet (portable iron/ironing board,
bathrobes and more).

The
lush toilet and bath opens up to the bedroom with its floor-to-ceiling glass
walls. The movable panel automatically closes with one push of a button for
intimate bath time. The marbled counter top contains the toiletries that were
all provided for. I also love the handy hair dryer and lighted magnified vanity
mirror.

What made our room more special was that we had an exclusive access to the Executive Lounge located at the 8th floor. We enjoyed an all-day pass with complimentary drinks and snacks, breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails and evening snacks. You could easily avail these exclusive privileges when you upgrade upon booking.

We
woke up the next day feeling sluggish (thanks to our last night’s booze) and
were literally dragging ourselves to Marriott Café for the buffet breakfast (we
chose to dine here rather than the lounge).
I
hurriedly went back to my room after the hefty breakfast and continued my trip
back to dreamland. It was check out time and I was still motionless. I heeded
my friend’s call to pack away and bid my last farewell to my lovely room.
The
day turned out well as we continued our party at the swimming pool and the
whirlpool. Manila Marriott Hotel provided a comfortable and luxurious stay for the group. Remarks were made on how great the bed was and how our bath time suddenly
extended its usual time limit. Well, that’s just a perfect example of how titos and titas of Manila spend their staycation.
