Goodbye and thank you
Ma’am Carla… that was five days
ago; a bittersweet Friday as I leave the school grounds to
welcome my two-month hiatus – the teachers are on forced leave (yes, forced). That
left me with two options; bury myself with books, journals and theses for my long
overdue thesis or pack my bags and go on a two-month backpacking trip. Do I
need to tell you what I chose?
It was the 23rd of February this year when me and my buddies were
chilling out on our favorite beer place somewhere. We were talking about our grand plans for the summer; to backpack
around Palawan (again) or maybe the Mindanao area or perhaps trek around the
Cordillera Region. And then some great news was seen on someone’s news feed –
the launch of Air Asia’s ASEAN Pass.
In no time, we grabbed our mobiles and researched on this newest thing on
air travel. Bright ideas surfaced and the group agreed on purchasing the
20-credit pass (check out our detailed planning and booking process on Air Asia ASEAN Pass).
Plan A |
Thanks to the visa free policies around Southeast Asia for its citizens (The Future of ASEAN Travel);
no visas will be needed, no long queues at the airport, no hardcore stuff –
just pure fun trip around Southeast Asia. It would be a no fuss backpacking
trip, guaranteed.
And just like that, we had a plan. We will travel around six countries (nineteen
key cities) on ten flights, dozens of overland trips and hundreds of strides.
Lemme show you our final route which, by the way, was formulated for
days;
Manila ˃ Cebu ˃ Kota Kinabalu > Bali > Yogyakarta > Kuala Lumpur > Yangon > Bagan Mandalay > Bangkok > Chiang Mai > Pai
> Chiang Rai > Luang Prabang > Vang Vieng > Pakse > Vientiane > Melaka
> Kuala Lumpur > Manila

DeleteOo nga naman, tama yung Inay mo - 'wag kang masyadong uminom...I'll pick up the slack. I've been drinking since I was in college and I am now retired....from work, but not from drinking. The secret is daily moderation - drink just enough to give you the buzz and the alcoholic bliss but not the headache in the morning from booze and the problem of going home without your wallet LOL. Take care. I'll drink to that!
ReplyDeleteHahaha. Kala ko retired from drinking Bert. Casual drinking is ok naman I think :)
DeleteIm planning also to do a series of SEA, what airline are u taking from Bali to Yogyakarta and from Yangon to BKK
ReplyDeleteAirAsia Neng :)
