My white wine rested on a table while I my eyes were glued on the great view outside. The KL Tower stood tall as the light drizzle started to make the glass windows foggy, it was quite romantic. The soft music and the warm ambience at the Club Lounge made it more relaxing. It was six in the afternoon and the free-flowing drinks and nibbles were filling up our table as the endless chitchats went on. No, we’re not inside a bar but at the comforts of our home in Kuala Lumpur, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel.
Kuala Lumpur has always been a favorite stopover for me and my buddy
during our yearly summer backpacking trips. For this year’s Beach Hop Asia 2016, we
dedicated three days of no-itinerary- just-chill kinda trip in Kuala Lumpur.
The non-stop drizzle caught us up at Medan Tuanku station of the Monorail. We waited for it to stop but it seemed like KL was enjoying the quick cool down. We then saw that Sheraton Imperial KL, our home for three days, was just a hundred meters away from the station so we walked along the covered path and dashed toward the entrance.
Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel is conveniently located along Jalan Sultan Ismail and is quite near Bukit Bintang area where the nice shopping malls are located. We had prior online booking so the checking in process went smoothly (check room types and rates).

After an hour or so at the Club Lounge, we checked out our room for the first time. Our Sheraton Club Suite Room was enormous like it could fit in a party
of thirty or more. I went inside and noticed a wash room near the main door. A
short pathway led me to a receiving area with couches and table. A flatscreen
TV with DVD player sat on a rack with mini fridge, coffee and tea-making
amenities and a fruit platter.
On the same area was a separate work station that felt like an
executive office or something with its sleek writing desk, lamp and ergonomic
chair.
A door led me to a vanity room where I immediately put my stuff in and
occupied it. It also houses a safe vault, iron board and a wardrobe closet.
The door opposite to it was the toilet and bathroom area. I was ecstatic upon seeing the ‘his and hers’ wash basin with its own set of bathroom
amenities. A bathtub rested on the far end just beside the shower area.
I went out and found a door leading to the bedroom.
Enveloped in glass windows, the bedroom provided a great view of the
city, the KL Tower glittering on the night’s sky. I sat on the couch opposite
the window and gazed as the horizon showed off its grandest bluish indigo
state. I sat there quite a long time wanting to snooze the night away but my
buddies were insisting on going out that night. And we did.
A much needed rest and sleep was fulfilled that night as the plush
pillows and comfy duvet of our king-sized bed wrapped around my body just like
my snuggly bed at home.
Breakfast was great as we get to choose from a wide array of local and
international dishes served at Essence Restaurant. Teh Tarik, freshly made, was
the perfect companion for my carbo-loading mornings.

Billeted on a Club Room, we had certain privileges that we enjoyed
during our stay such as; free 2-pc. standard laundry service per room per night,
all-day access to Club Lounge including cocktail hours where they serve
free-flowing beers, wines and other knick-knacks, and more.
The Club Lounge turned out to be an extension of our room as we converged
here after breakfast. My buddies got to finish some of their writing gigs while I updated my social media accounts using the fast and reliable internet connection
at the hotel.
