Our bus dropped us off at the busy area of Wan Chai where shops and hole-in-the-wall eateries lined the streets. It was an hour past noon and we combed the alleys of what seemed to be old Hong Kong, charming in my opinion. After walking a good fifteen minutes on uphill and downhill paved slopes, we arrived on our home for a night, the Cosmo Hotel.
The location
was perfect as the boutique hotel is situated near the bustling area of Wan
Chai but also had the seclusion you want for a perfect good night's sleep.
The lobby was fabulous with its huge ceiling with a touch of elegance. We proceeded to the front desk and were immediately assisted by no less than the resident manager. A huge Mac computer was on a corner while a tour desk was on the other side as well as limousine and airport shuttle arrangement desk.
Cosmo hotel has 23 floors with 142 well-appointed rooms that are designed to fit the needs of their guests. (check for discounted hotel rates here).
We’re booked on an Executive Room and luckily, our room was available even if it’s too early for the check-in time. We’re handed
the keycards to our respective rooms and ushered by the manager. The room
opened up to bright hues of orange as the theme (you can select the room theme from
acridine orange, modo-green or pastel yellow).
The en suite
toilet and bath was huge with hot and cold shower, bathtub, organic toiletries
and a hairdryer.
Cosmo Hotel also has free shuttle service that brings its customers to 16
specific destinations on a scheduled basis including Causeway Bay, Wan Chai,
Admiralty, Central, Quarry Bay and more (check here for discounted tours, transportation and activities in Hong Kong).
We also
enjoyed the free reliable WiFi connection all throughout the hotel. A smart
phone was also spotted at the bedside table that provides free 3G Internet and
unlimited local and IDD calls (US, UK, Australia, Singapore, China, Korea,
Malaysia, Japan and Canada). We also used it as personal hotspot for all of our
devices that kept us connected in the internet wherever.
We had a very
comfy sleep that night and woke up feeling energized. We headed straight to the
patio area where we had some brewed coffee and bread (our stash). It was another day conquer and to get lost in the streets of Hong Kong.
