As I gaze upon my roomies, I can tell that they’re at peace being dead to
the world. Having the weirdest body clock in the world (waking up at 4:45 in
the morning everyday), I got up and checked out what’s happening outside
through the huge wooden window from our room at Hotel Felicidad. It was almost
daybreak and the roosters were crowing non-stop. I immediately shut the windows
and went back to sleep.
Guys, we didn’t come
here to sleep so get up now! And they didn’t just wanna get up. I think that they were lulled by
the huge and comfy bed.
Hotel Felicidad is one of those up-and-coming hotels in Vigan City.
Situated a few blocks away from the famous Calle Crisologo. I went out thinking about renting one of those bikes from the hotel but then I was
too lazy (blame it to my roomies). I went back inside the hotel and ordered
some breakfast meal (complimentary). I chose the Vigan Longganisa meal with
fried rice and egg. Coffee and tea are also provided any time of the day.
We stayed on our huge Niños Suite (check here for discounted room rates) with three
big four-poster beds locally known as Atays.
It was a legit bed for kids during the Spanish time. The canopy around the bed,
I think, served as a mosquitero or
mosquito net during those times. I untied the drapes and loved the exclusivity
it created.
The en suite toilet and bath is spacious and complete with toiletries.
The hot and cold shower provided a refreshing shower every time.
The two-storey hotel was once an old house in Vigan (Bahay na Bato) with
the thick walls as a proof to it. The authentic Baldosa tiles and the grand staircase added to that old-fashioned
feel to the hotel.
