When they say that timing is everything, I say location is everything. When you’re staying in Kuala Lumpur for let’s say a night (just like what we did) and wasting your time is such a shame then lemme tell you about this cool hotel right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City.
Apple Hotel in Jalan Alor (check rates) is a budget hotel in Kuala Lumpur City, Malaysia. It’s right in the heart of Bukit Bintang (a very lively area). Shopping malls are scattered everywhere, hawker stalls that promises authentic Malay and Chinese dishes and best of all it’s accessible through public transportations.
From KL’s Chinatown (where our shuttle bus from the airport dropped us), we hopped on a free bus of GO KL’s Purple Line and got off at Bukit Bintang bus stop. From there, Jalan Alor is just a short walk.
Upon reaching the hotel’s
modest lobby, we were greeted by the gracious staff and assisted us in our
reservations. Checking in was a breeze for our Double Deluxe Room that night.
The hotel lobby looked like a tourist information center with a huge map of downtown KL on the wall. Tour packages, airport transfers and luggage storage are some of the services they offer in the hotel.
We were assigned to a room on the 6th floor and we got a window that has the perfect view of the city at night (take note that some of the rooms don’t have windows, you could request for it beforehand). The room’s just basic with all the necessities any traveler would need (TV, Double Bed, en suite toilet and bath). The room’s quite small but as long as you and your stuff are safe then it’s ok.
After that first night, we booked another one (for another KL layover) and didn’t regret doing so. The perfect location, very accessible via public transportation and that 24-hour hawker stall right in front of it are the selling point of this hotel. And we are so coming back to Apple Hotel and Jalan Alor (and that Mee Goreng, ugh!).
