With my very challenging job and on-the-side activities a very relaxing massage has become a need rather than a want. I love massages but I am not addicted to it. I usually wait for good deals on group buying sites or go to my good old spa center. And last year I chanced upon this deal:
I hurriedly bought 2 of those and gave one to my mom (which she used at Nuat Thai Greenhills). I am a frequent guest of a spa center in one of the malls in QC and never did I try to switch. But then I was thinking that this deal was quite a steal. And just before the redemption period ends, I went to Nuat Thai 500 Shaw branch and brought the printed voucher with me. Reservations was a breeze. I called up two days prior my target day and chose from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. schedule. I will be getting a 90-minute Body Scrub + Swedish Massage for 375 pesos. A far cry from the original price of 750 pesos. Oh just the thought of it makes me giddy! Moving on...

It was 1:00 in the afternoon and I was just in time for my schedule. The smell of mint and eucalyptus oil greeted me when I entered the massage center. I was then referred to my masseuse who never mentioned her name. Poor me I didn't get the chance to ask her that. I was given a foot bath right away and handed me a faux havaianas flip flops while she kept my own footwear on a foot rack. She quietly dried my feet with a towel and showed me to my room for the whole session.

What I noticed about the room was that curtains are used as dividers from the other rooms. It felt so weird being so close to another guest while he/she was moaning. Plus it felt uncomfortable knowing that any moment there might be a limb or something that will peep out from the other side. On the other hand, I loved the mattress on the floor - without a bed or anything - zen style. I was asked by my masseuse to change into a robe and she handed me a disposable undies. I dimmed the lights.

She went back after a few minutes and then immediately started with the body scrub. It was a coffee scrub - because I smelled it and not because she told me so. The scrub itself was nice. I felt that all my stress were scrubbed away by her.
After 40 minutes (it felt so fast), I was asked to take a shower at the far end of the hallway. She was with me up until I reached the shower room. She gave me a new set of robe and towels. I spent a good 10 minutes in the hot/cold shower for I felt really greasy. They use liquid soaps and shampoos which is more efficient and eco-friendly rather than small bar soaps and shampoo sachets.

I went back to the same room and found out that she changed the beddings from the scrub a while ago. With no time to spare, she started with the 40-minute Swedish massage. She asked me beforehand of my type of pressure (soft/hard) and I chose hard. And boy it was really hard! I then asked her to soften it a bit and she did. She did what she has to do for the duration of the session.
After the massage, she bowed her head and told me that it's done and then asked me, "Ma'am gusto mo ng tea?" in a quirky manner. She gave me my tea and some hot towels (without any tip envelope unlike my suki spa center) and I rested for a while thinking about the whole body scrub-massage therapy.

Overall, I really enjoyed the coffee body scrub. It felt so good and she covered almost every inch of my skin. The massage itself was average. It wasn't as remarkable as you would wish it would be. And the curtain walls? Oh gosh! My neighbor was so loud and kept on answering all his phone calls while having his massage. It felt that we were just in one room which is weird. Will I go back again? With a promo deal (or a free one) - yes.

I like Nuat Thai kaso yung mga locations nila dapat sinasadya pa. I usually go to the Pearl Drive branch kaso nilalakad ko pa talaga.
