Last September, I had a post about taking an examination - Touch move. We were told that the results will be released after a month. It was a month and a half now but I haven't received any notification. So as I went on with my regular internet routine, I checked my e-mail and saw one subject that says, "Result of Master's Admission Test in Education". I knew right away that it was the letter I'm waiting for. I opened it and partly closed my eyes (no exaggeration). And the result is; 

  We are pleased to inform you that you successfully passed 
the Master’s Admission Test in Education (MATE) administered on September 1 and 2, 2011. 
You are therefore qualified for admission to the Master of Arts in Education program 
major in Educational Administration this second semester,  2011-2012...

I read it again, and again. The letter was long and I needed sometime to really absorb what's happening. I couldn't help but smile and pat my own back for a job well done.

I'm currently savoring the moment and I have 3 more days before the orientation. I need to learn how to be a student again and un-learn how to be the teacher and the person-in-control. Si teacher estudyante ulit?!

    thanks everyone! at ako na nga ang magbabayad ng tuiton fees ko...buti na lang public yung university so walang OA na miscellaneous fees :)

    that's in my list too, to take masters in my field. actually, that's part of the reason why i accepted the job offer here in penang. oh well, but that's another topic.

    believe me, i know how you feel!
    i'd like to be in the same shoes too, pero in the right time of course. i'll wait for the Lord's go signal.

      hi edz! time pressured so waste no time. sagot lang ng sagot. and yung essay part wag ka na mag scratch, dahil time pressured nga eh yung iba di na naisulat sa provided sheets of paper yung essay so bokya sila dun. i can't remember any of the questions basta ang alam ko napressure ako sa oras na fina-flash everytime :) good luck edz!

    Thank you po blissfulguro!!! I received my test permit this morning and it's March 7.huhuhu I am anticipating of a good result for it.kailangan talga eh habang bata pa.buti nalang di ako napabilang sa March 8 schedule kasi may Proficiency exam din ako sa DepEd for ranking...God is really great!!!! I just want to ask about the specific parts of the exam. may inductive reasoning po ba? verbal reasoning,etc.?

      wow galing! actually nakalimutan ko na yung details ng exam pero ang tumatak lang talaga sakin eh yung essay sa last part. the rest of the exam eh vague na (sa dami ng exams na na-take ko na.hehe) basic stuff lang i guess. yung verbal reasoning at visual eh meron ata. ang naalala o lang talaga eh ang pressure na nararamdaman ko everytime they flash the remaining time for a certain set of question. yun talaga. so mabilis dapat :) good luck edz! balitaan mo ko :)

      Yep...I will blissfulguro..hehe by March 9 na ako magpost ng balita dito.kasi may exam pa ako by March 8. Naalala ko tuloy ang LET sa sinabi mong pressure. pano ba naman kasi.mga kasama ko an hour and a half palang ata nagpass na ng answer sheet. grabe yung pressure. For 3 parts of the exam(kasi may major ako), I was the last person to pass my answer.hehe sama na nga ng tingin sakin ng dalawang proctors eh.pinabayaan ko lang cla. anyway...thanks for the info blissfulguro...sana papalarin ako.gusto ko talagang mag-aral sa UP eh.I just want to know how it looks like to be a UP student:)

      ako naman 2nd courser so nung LET di ko alam yung ibang components ng exam. haha. pero i don't get pressured easily. goodluck sa ranking. susko. ang daing item ngayon. ako 3 years nag-antay (pa-rank every year) para makakuha ng item. whew. don't worry. makakapasa ka i'm sure. and if you did kita tayo sa eduk :)

      hehehe sana nga ay magdilang anghel kayo Ms.blissfulguro. Wow! marami din akong kasama nun sa exam na mga hindi talaga educ.o kumuha lang ata ng some units. nahirapan daw cla sa Prof.Ed. pero pasado naman cla when I checked them out. Problema ko lang kasi hindi talaga ako native resident here in Antipolo. I just moved here last May. So that's gonna be a factor to consider because of the localization thing in DepEd which I think a big YES to prioritize those local aspirant. I'm not losing hope though.hehe I'm very optimistic about it. By the way Ms.blissfulguro, how is it being rated? I mean, what's the passing mark? is it percentile ranking? don't know the mechanics talaga. But whatever it takes, I just want to enjoy the exam...passed or failed....sana passed nalang.hehe Are you still in UP?

      yep! i'm on my 4th sem now. long way to go kasi 6 units per sem lang ako. ayoko mag 9 units. hehe. i dunno how they score it but may cut off grade and then they will handout the papers of the "passers" to the different departments then they will scrutinize every application and magtatanggal pa din sila. example sa amin sa Ma.Ed EdAd. sa batch namin, 11 lang ang passers then ang natanggap lang 9 students. sa SpEd may interview daw. ano ba majpr mo ed? dapat habang nag eexam ka mafeel mo na na papasa ka. di pwedeng bagsak :)

      Hehehe really???? As in???? oh my.....pressured nga pala talaga.hehehe Sana nga papasa ako Ms.blissfulguro...ang dami din kasi ng applicants nyan eh. Biological Sciences yung major ko. Supposedly, I will be applying for MS at the College of Sciences but then the attendant told me that I might take additional undergrad subjects kasi yung program daw nila is intended for BSBio graduates. So, eventually, I went back to COE.hehehe Sabi saki ng teacher ko before na nasa UPLB now, wala daw entrance exam ang MS dun sa Science. Hmmm malayo lang kasi eh...

      Hmmm wala cyang specification eh.pero Biology and Chemistry yung mga major subjects namin. It was actually BioChem before. We were the first batch to take up BioSci kasi di na ina allow ng CHED ang BioChem major sa LET..as far as I know lang ha.hehehe may BioChem course din kasi sa school namin.I really don't know the exact reason why it was renamed to BioSci:)

      I mean, the only specification of our major is Biological Sciences. dealing with botany, zoology,human anatomy,ecology and other related fields.

      Hi Ms. blissfulguro,
      How are you today? By the way, nagtake na ako kanina ng MATE. My part 1 was busted. I was not mindful of the time. Tama nga kayo. Time really matters when taking MATE. Sinunod ko yung payo nyo about essay. Diretso na yung answer ko:) Bahala ni c Lord nun.Sana pumasa ako...Tomorrow will be EPT in DepEd.

    Hi Ms.Blissfulguro!
    It's been over a month now but I don't receive any email from UP about the MATE exam. Do you have an idea of whether or nor the result will be given to all the examinees. Im thinking that maybe they will just email those who passed the exam:(

      hi there. i also heard that they only send out emails to those who passed the exam. i took the test on sept. and got the results on oct. wait pa siguro kasi mahaba pa naman ang time before the 1st sem. kakastart rin kasi ng summer classes eh.

      Tumawag po ako just this morning ms.blissfulguro...sabi wala pa daw ung reasult eh...tsaka sabi rin na pati daw po hindi nakapasa pinapadalhan din daw po ng email.good to know about it:) im not pessimistic about it though...

    Hi! I just took the MATE last thursday and I just want you to know na this is one of those sites na chineck ko regarding it. I like what you're doing. Teaching and travelling at the same time.       hi jindra! i'm sure pasado ka diyan. time-pressured lang pero keri naman di ba? i'm 6 units away from thesis so medyo stressed talaga ngayon. pero happy din naman sa eduk. what's your major pala? hope to bump into you sa lobby on enrollment tas libre mo ko isaw :)
