If you happen to be in Cebu City and you plan to go to other provinces, try Oceanjet ferries. Me and my friends were bound to Tagbilaran, Bohol from Cebu city last week and we already booked a roundtrip ticket from Oceanjet with a promo fare (400 pesos each ROUNDTRIP, but it can be as low as 300 pesos if you book earlier). We contacted a person to transact the booking for us (because they don't have an online booking) and we deposited the money in the bank and she texted us our ticket numbers. She said that we have to save it and show it to the terminal on the day of our departure (no need to go there beforehand for confirmation or whatsoever).
the terminal |
We scheduled for 6 a.m. and we arrived at their terminal (Pier 1) at 5 a.m. We were early because boarding is 15 minutes before departure. We don't have any baggage check-in. I just went to the Information counter and showed them the ticket numbers and our IDs. They later gave us our boarding pass.
the ferry to Bohol |
There are 3 areas for passengers; the topmost is the non-aircon (but with an amazing view of the ocean), next level is the aircon (with cushioned seats and lcd tv) and the business class (right beside the non-aircon (a great view with the comfort of aircon, cushioned seats, own toilet and lcd tv). Of course, we chose the non-aircon type. Foreigners either get the aircon or the business class. But when the ferry departs, you could see them going outside to feel the sea breeze and photo ops for tourists. Someone even told me that you could actually transfer into the aircon area if it is not full (check here for discounted tours and activities in Cebu).
the non-aircon |
The travel was a smooth ride considering the cloudy weather with drizzling at times. You can have your yosi break all throughout the ride if your on the non-aircon area. If you have to go to the toilet, you have to go down at the aircon area.

All in all it was a pleasant ferry ride. For more details about destinations, schedules and fares, you can check out their website. For the"contact person" (if you need) just leave a comment and I will refer you.

My friends and I are going from Cebu-Bohol and thinking of taking the Oceanjet. Their website doesnt even say that there are 3 areas to choose from. Thanks to your blog, now I have an idea. Do you by any chance know how much is the rountrip aircon fare (not the business class)if Ipurchase it weeks in advance? thanks
ReplyDeletehi rhubee...
ReplyDelete1.) i'm not sure if may online booking na sila ngayon pero last february wala pa...
2.) every last week of the month malalaman if continue pa rin ang promo nila...
3.)assuming na may promo, if aircon and you're 3 weeks advance mga 400 pesos roundtrip na, pero madaling maubos yun kaya malamang 500 pesos ang makukuha nyo, roundtrip na yun...that is, if you book c.o. kuya tatsky (yung guide namin)...
4.)if hindi ka mag-avail ng services niya eh you can book roundtrip a day before for 400 pesos (non-aircon) and 800 for on-date purchase naman...
5.) try mo rin mag-inquire thru their landline (032-2557560)...
hope that helps you rhubee...:)

he can help you with the tour, accommodation and airport/pier transfers...sa panglao naman pwede ka niya i refer sa wife niya sa beach resorts...text mo ngapala siya during night time kasi makakareply siya ng mabilis. may tour kasi siya lagi pag umaga...tell him ni refer ka ni carla (as if naman makakatulong noh?!haha)enjoy kayo huh! i feel for you kasi ako din talaga nag organize ng lahat kaya go go go!
if may question ka re sa itinerary nyo or anything eh just ask me..yabang eh noh..:)
I just texted Kuya Tatsky and I'm just waiting for his reply. I mentioned your name, baka makadiscount hahah. Was he your contact sa pagbook ng Oceanjet ticket mo?Eh sa Cebu kaya, may contact ka? Naku ayan, dumadami na tanong ko sayo, heheh. Thanks ulit =)
ReplyDeletehi again!yes, yung wife niya nag-arrange ng Oceanjet namin..nag-deposit lang ako sa BPI account niya, tapos namili ako ng sched for the trip and itetext na sayo yung ticket numbers...then sa araw ng biyahe nyo, go straight sa pier 1 then just show them the text or isulat mo sa paper yung ticket numbers, with 1 valid ID tapos bibigyan na lang nila kayo ng boarding pass...sa Cebu naman eh kinausap lang namin yung unang cab driver na nasakyan namin galing airport..tinantsa lang namin siya, nakipagtawaran kami, tapos kinuha ko na namin number niya para siya na ang "guide" namin sa Cebu..ang problema kasi, he served as our driver lang talaga, kakwentuhan and walang masyadong input re the city or the spots we covered..pero not bad na sa 1800 kasi yung ibang cab drivers parang first 3 hours 2500 na agad ang singil eh kami inabot ng 7 hours..check mo yung post ko sa cebu..so yun...
ReplyDeletemay i know the number nung nagpareserve ng tickets nyo sa ferry? my bayad ba sya sapagpapareserve? tnx
ReplyDeletehi there! as for the numbers, you can't book thru fone or online, so what we did was to ask our tour guide in Bohol to assist us. the details were answered from the previous comments. just scroll up to view it. :)
ReplyDeletethe numbers of the tour guide were also posted. just text him for assistance...
ReplyDeleteHi. How much did you pay Kuya Tatsky for the whole tour? I recently booked a flight to Cebu so now I'm googling a good Cebu-Bohol itinerary. Your blog is so helpful! :)
ReplyDeletehi there anonymous :) that was last feb. so maybe tatsky's tour increased now. i heard mga 2k for 4-5 persons per car. pag mas marami van na ang kailangan... try texting him, nagrereply naman siya... hope you'll get him and insist on him as your guide... enjoy bohol!
ReplyDeletehi. i truly appreciate your blog. i am now getting ideas how to plan our trip. ask ko lang, how long is the ferry trip from cebu to bohol?
ReplyDeletehi there ^. thank you so much. the trip from cebu to bohol depends on the ferry (there are three different companies) it is usually between 1 to 1 1/2 hours. But my recent trip (2 weeks ago) took us 3 hours - may engine problem kasi - ibblog ko pa lang yung recent trip na yun. Pero usually between 1 1/2 hours ang pinakamatagal. :)
